The story is about the first year in the life of a rookie hero named Wraith. While
he has established his presence within the City, he is still learning the ropes and making
mistakes. The story is essentially about him learning that sometimes things don’t always go as well as planned no matter the necessary preparations or contingencies made beforehand. I wanted to portray a hero who can definitely handle himself but, at the same time shows some ignorance to what can go wrong when he is not careful of his surroundings.

,Panel one: In a foggy night city scape. A terrified gang associate named Joe runs through a dark alley way. As he runs, he is constantly looking over his shoulder frantically shouting.
Dialogue: Joe (Internally thinking) This city used to be simpler. Cops looked the other way, People used to keep their mouths shut, this city belonged to us. That is until he came. Joe “Stay away from me. “
Joe (Internally thinking) “He is close. I know it”
Panel two: From out of the shadows behind joe comes a man named Wraith who is dressed head to toe in black with a blood red cloak that follows. He neither responds nor retorts at the demands made from joe.
Dialogue: Wraith (Internally thinking) “Having trouble keeping up with him. Too much weight with this armor and cloak. It’s slowing me down.
Panel three: Wraith slows down to pull out a gas-powered grapple gun and points it towards joe as he mounts over a ledge. Wraith pulls the trigger of the grapple gun, then suddenly the wires of the gun tangled themselves rendering the grapple gun useless. Wraith then slams the gun on the ground walking away.
Dialogue: Joe “He is going to shoot me “
Wraith “Let’s see if this works. Took me weeks just to get the necessary parts for this thing.
Wraith “Tch”
Panel Four: Joe lunges himself off the rooftop, just barley able to pull himself up. Wraith follows.
Panel Five: Wraith jumps, now out of the shadows no longer a silhouette in red appears lunging towards joe at a rapid rate. Joe falls on the rooftop with his hand covering his face and he screams.
Dialogue: Joe: Please, No!!
Panel Six: Wraith strikes joe down, rendering him unconscious and landing on top of him. As he lands three more armed assailants appear. As it turns out wraith was using joe to lead him to the rest of the gang members.
Dialogue: Wraith: “So this is where you guys have been hiding”
Assailant #1: “Who is this?”
Assailant # 2: “does it matter? Shoot him!!”
Panel Seven: All three assailants open fire; Wraith quickly holds up his blood red cloak which in turn deflects the incoming bullets. Wraith get ready to attack.
Dialogue: Wraith:” I need to take the one on the left first. Hit them hard, make every shot count.
Panel Eight: Wraith quickly subdues the two assailants. Behind him a third come up to him from behind. Wraith back kicks him away, making him lose his balance and ultimately falls off the rooftop screaming.
Dialogue: Assailant #3 No, please help!!
Wraith: Can’t let him fall, no one dies here if I can help it.
Panel Nine: Wraith reaches for the assailant hand desperately trying to pull him up. Suddenly the roof gives weight causing the two to fall. Wraith’s body armor breaks the fall for both, landing in the middle of an alleyway full of trash.
Dialogue: Wraith: Ow
